The Miner is one of six jobs on Prosperity SMP. Miners earn wages by breaking stone, ores, and deepslate in the resource world. Higher levels unlock drills (3x3 AOE mining tools), Master Smith enchant upgrades, and access to the prestige system.

Joining

Run /jobs join miner or select Miner from /jobs browse.

Pay rates

Miners earn per block broken. Wages increase by 1% per level (up to +50% at level 50).

Block Base wage
Stone, deepslate, granite, diorite, andesite $0.035
Cobblestone $0.025
End stone $0.040
Coal ore $0.040
Iron ore $0.040
Gold ore $0.040
Diamond ore $0.040
Sandstone, red sandstone $0.025

Income also comes from selling mined materials at the Admin shop or player shops, and from civic contracts.

Drills

Drills are 3x3 AOE pickaxes that break a 9-block area with each swing. They are purchased with /buydrill and gated by Miner level.

Tier Name Level Price Base Enchants
1 Compact Drill 15 $1,000 Iron pickaxe Efficiency III, Unbreaking IV
2 Industrial Drill 30 $4,000 Diamond pickaxe Efficiency IV, Unbreaking III, Fortune I
3 Apex Drill 45 $6,500 Netherite pickaxe Efficiency V, Unbreaking IV, Fortune II

Drills work only in the resource world, nether, and end. They are blocked in the main world to prevent plot griefing. Drills are repairable via anvil with the matching ingot material.

Drill AOE behavior

Each swing consumes one durability point on the center block only. The eight surrounding blocks are broken without additional durability cost but still drop items normally. Fortune enchants apply to all nine blocks.

Jobs wages are paid only for the center block. The drill's value comes from material yield, not wage multiplication.

Master Smith

The Master Smith is an upgrade station at the Job Center that offers elevated enchant levels for pickaxes.

Direct upgrades (skill tree gated)

Enchant Unlock Cost
Efficiency VII Skill tree node (L35+) $5,000 + 3 diamond blocks + 8 iron blocks
Fortune V Skill tree node (L45+) $5,000 + 3 diamond blocks + 8 gold blocks

Enchanted books

Book Gate Cost
Efficiency VII Skill tree $10,000 + 5 diamond blocks
Fortune V Skill tree $12,000 + 5 diamond blocks
Efficiency VIII Prestige P2 (Twice-Forged) $35,000 + 12 diamond blocks
Fortune VI Prestige P2 (Twice-Forged) $40,000 + 12 diamond blocks
Efficiency IX Prestige P4 (Mythic) $100,000 + 20 diamond blocks
Fortune VII Prestige P4 (Mythic) $120,000 + 20 diamond blocks

Books are applied via standard anvil. Direct upgrades cannot be applied to drills, but books can be applied to drills through the anvil (intended design).

Prestige tools

Each prestige tier grants a named prestige pickaxe with Efficiency V, Fortune III, and Unbreaking V on a netherite base. The tool name and color change per tier, but the base enchants are the same. The real stat progression comes from Master Smith books, which unlock at P2 and P4.

Tier Tool name Master Smith unlock
P1 Reborn Drill (base Master Smith books)
P2 Twice-Forged Drill Tier 2 books (Eff VIII, Fortune VI)
P3 Thrice-Forged Drill (no new books)
P4 Mythic Drill Tier 3 books (Eff IX, Fortune VII)
P5 Eternal Drill (no new books)

Prestige tools are soulbound (never drop on death) and tradeable (the original owner's name stays engraved).
