Getting started

The getting started guide walks new players through their first hour on Prosperity SMP — from connecting to earning their first paycheck.

Bedrock players connect through Geyser. All features work on both editions. See Bedrock setup for detailed instructions.

First steps

1. Read the signs at spawn. The spawn area has boards explaining the basics. Take a moment to orient yourself.
2. Join a job. Run /jobs browse to see the six available careers. Pick one that fits your playstyle — you can switch later with a 60-second cooldown.
3. Teleport to the resource world. Run /rtp or use the resource world portal at spawn. The resource world is where you mine, farm, and gather without disturbing the main world.
4. Set a home. Find a good spot and run /sethome. You earn more home slots as you progress.
5. Start working. Break blocks, harvest crops, or kill mobs depending on your job. You earn money automatically for every qualifying action.

Earning money

There are several ways to earn on the server:

Job wages

The primary income source. Every block you break, crop you harvest, or mob you kill pays a small wage. See Jobs for rates and details.

Admin shop

Run /shop to open the server shop. Sell common materials here for a guaranteed floor price. See Admin shop.

Player shops

Browse the market district to find player-run ChestShop signs. Players often offer better prices than the admin shop.

Civic contracts

Visit the contract board and run /contracts to see available deliveries. Hand in bulk materials for bonus payouts. See Contracts.

Direct trading

Use /pay <player> <amount> for direct trades, or set up your own ChestShop.

Setting up a shop

Once you have materials to sell, you can create a ChestShop in the market district:

1. Place a chest
2. Place a sign on the chest
3. Write the sign lines:
   • Line 1: leave blank (your name fills in automatically)
   • Line 2: quantity (e.g., 64)
   • Line 3: price (B 10 for buy price, S 5 for sell price, or B 10:S 5 for both)
   • Line 4: item name (e.g., Diamond)

/tpa <player>	Request to teleport to a player
/find <item>	Search for player shops selling an item
