Bedrock setup: Difference between revisions

Bedrock Edition players can join Prosperity SMP through Geyser and Floodgate, which translate between Java and Bedrock protocols. All gameplay features work on both editions.

From a console (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch)

Consoles cannot directly enter custom server addresses. Use one of these workarounds:

BedrockConnect — a DNS-based redirect. Change your console's DNS settings to point to a BedrockConnect server, then select a Featured Server to enter the custom IP. See BedrockConnect.net for instructions.
Phantom — a local proxy that runs on a PC on your network and advertises the server to your console's LAN game list.

From mobile or Windows 10/11

Open Minecraft Bedrock, go to Servers > Add Server, enter the address and port above.

Account linking

Bedrock players receive an automatically generated username with a . prefix (Floodgate format). The Bedrock Xbox Live account is linked to a server profile automatically on first join.

Bedrock players who also own a Java Edition account can optionally link their accounts so both clients access the same server profile, balance, and inventory. To link, connect to link.geysermc.org on one account and follow the prompts to generate a code, then connect on the other account and submit the code. Account linking should be done before accumulating data on the server — linking after a Bedrock player has built up balance, plots, or job levels may orphan that progress on the Bedrock profile.

ChestShop sign name limit

ChestShop signs cap owner names at 15 characters. The Floodgate prefix (.) counts toward that limit, so Bedrock IGNs longer than 14 characters are truncated on the sign. The server's Simulated ChestShop internally resolves truncated names back to the full Floodgate UUID, so sales pay correctly regardless of the truncation.

If a Bedrock-owned shop is not paying correctly, report it on Discord and provide the owner's full IGN.

Troubleshooting

Cannot connect: Verify the address is play.prosperitysmp.com and port is 19132. Restart Minecraft if the server does not appear.

Kicked for flying: Bedrock movement packets sometimes trigger anti-fly detection. This is handled server-side — if you are kicked repeatedly, report it on Discord.

Skin not showing: Bedrock skins may not render for Java players. This is a Geyser limitation.
