New page

'''Punishments and appeals''' covers how rule violations are handled on Prosperity SMP and how to appeal a decision. The rules themselves are on [[Server rules]].

== How reports are handled ==
Staff investigate every report using [[CoreProtect]] logs and other server records — block changes, container access, and chat are all logged. You don't need screenshots for grief: the logs show exactly what happened. Report issues in the Discord.

== Punishment ladder ==
Punishments scale with severity and history:

{| class="wikitable"
|-
! Violation !! Typical outcome
|-
| Minor chat violation || Warning or mute
|-
| Griefing (first offense, small) || Rollback + warning
|-
| Griefing (repeated or large) || Temporary or permanent ban
|-
| Hacking or exploiting || Permanent ban
|-
| Scamming || Refund to the victim + temporary ban
|}

Grief is always rolled back — victims don't stay harmed regardless of what happens to the offender.

== Appealing ==
Every decision can be appealed on the [https://discord.gg/gmXqBx7sfV Discord]:
# Open a ticket (or message staff) with your in-game name and what the punishment was.
# Explain your side — honestly. Logs are checked against appeals, and honesty materially helps.
# A staff member not involved in the original decision reviews it where possible.

Appeals are about fairness, not loopholes — a clear, honest appeal for a first offense has a good chance; repeat offenses and hacking rarely do.
